Custom Home Builder Monterey and Carmel

Second Generation, Still Local

Balestreri Builders is a second-generation, family-owned custom home builder and general contractor serving Monterey, Carmel, and the surrounding Peninsula. We have been building here long enough to remember what it looked like before: the small Carmel cottages since replaced by larger view homes, the hotels and dealerships that went up twenty and thirty years ago, some of which we built. We watched this place change from the inside, because we never left.

Our family’s roots on the Peninsula go back to the Italian and Sicilian immigrants who came to Cannery Row with very little and built a life out of it. That history is why we still run this company the way we do: in person, by hand, with the same clients and the same standards we had before the luxury market found us.

Plenty of contractors have arrived since. We were already here. As a Monterey County general contractor, we know the permitting process, the coastal review requirements, and the local trades, because we have been working through all of it for decades. That knowledge is what lets us plan accurately, quote with confidence, and keep a project moving.

We build custom homes, home additions, luxury remodels, and commercial tenant improvements throughout Monterey, Carmel, Carmel-by-the-Sea, Carmel Valley, Pebble Beach, Pacific Grove, and Big Sur. We self-perform our millwork and finish carpentry, we keep a clean and quiet job site, and we stand behind our work long after the final walkthrough.
